I like to ask Jarod to love me, and when he responds, "I do!" I like to yell, "More!"

I serenaded him this evening, and much to both our surprise, the lyrics to The Little Mermaid's "Part of Your World" just flowed right out of my mouth like I'd written the song! I think we were both really shocked, and I just kept singing my little heart out. After that, I youtubed (like how I conjugated that?) Disney sing-alongs for at least 20 minutes.

What else? Jarod bought Starcraft II, so I'll see him again in, oh... about 2 years.

It's almost August, which means it's almost San Francisco time! And almost Boston time! And almost my birthday! And almost Jarod's birthday! And almost our 4th wedding anniversary! PHEW!

Speaking of birthdays, I need to plan a collective shindig for Sebastian, Dimitri, and Broughton. I love doing crazy things that only a crazy dog lady would do.

Trips planned for the rest of the year are San Francisco (with Thao) and Boston (with Jarod). I want to fit in one more domestic trip this year, but to where! I feel like a crazy person for staring at Travel Zoo everyday.

I have a crush on Alexander Skarsgard, who is totally not my typical type, and I like learning nerdy things like the fact that his dad is an actor, too - he played the math professor in Good Will Hunting! Neat! I am easily amused.

I'll pay you a $1 to drink from Broughton's water bowl.

No.

$5.

No.

How much would you do it for?

It doesn't matter, because it's our money.

What if it was a stranger? How much would a stranger have to give you to drink from Broughton's water bowl?

I don't know. It would have to be an on-the-spot decision.

Is it crazy that I really do not care for root beer UNLESS you add some vanilla ice cream to it? Root beer floats - those I like. Root beer - not so much.

Earlier this week, the president of our company asked me to lunch. We're a small company, and I talk to him everyday, so I guess it wasn't an insanely weird invitation, but it did get me paranoid. What was he going to say? Was I in trouble? Jarod and I even joked that I was going to get fired. Anyway, our lunch was today, and as it turns out, he just wanted to commend me for exhibiting "grace under fire" and to tell me that I am "exceptional." He described how I am extremely important to the company and that they will do anything to keep me happy. Free lunch and positive feedback. Great start to my weekend!

It is Monday, and I think I've rid my hibiscus plant of all the pesky white flies. I am good and happy. Weeeee.

Good friends are hard to find. Also, it's hard to be a good friend.

I'll just stare at this picture until I feel better.

Jarod took this picture of Bastian, and it cracks me up.

While Jarod was taking my outfit pictures for Two Closets this evening, I asked him to change the angle of the camera because he's a giant and his pictures dwarf me. He tried to bend his legs to take the photos head-on, but his skinny twig legs started shaking. It was hilarious.

Oh, hi there, Blog! How are things?

I booked a surprise trip to Boston, and I was hoping to wait until September before spilling the beans, but I suck and already told Jarod. Man, I'm kind of obsessed with traveling, right now. It's an expensive addiction, but it's safer than alcohol and heroin.

This morning, we were supposed to go to Town Lake/Lady Bird Lake with Broughton, but neither of us set our alarms which really set us up for failure. At 10:45, I pointed out to Jarod that it was 10:45, and he proceeded to lecture me for 20 minutes on why I should not eat leftovers for lunch, but rather eat kolaches.

I can't remember how the subject of his 10-yr. high school reunion came up, but it did, and while he expressed just how utterly uninterested he would be in attending it, I was blown away by the fact that it's been almost 10 years since he graduated.

Life, folks! It goes by fast.

After watching Eclipse:

Babe, would you like me to lie in a field of flowers with you while I sparkle?

No, but if you want to get ripped and walk around without a shirt, I'd be fine with that.
