Going to San Francisco this weekend! Gonna smell seals and visit Alcatraz!

I'm presently watching Hook. I like the part when all the Lost Boys poke and smash Peter's face to make sure he's really Peter Pan. I also like the part when I eat a Caramello. In life - not in the movie.

Jarod and I sandwiched Sebastian and Dimitri between us and slow-danced this evening. Broughton couldn't join because he was in time-out. Also, he's probably 60 lbs.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my husband for getting up with me at 5 this morning and cleaning up the massive liquid shit storm that Broughton left for us on the carpet. Additionally, I would like to thank my husband for leaving work early to meet carpet cleaners at our house this afternoon and enduring the awful stench that only intensified with the rising temperature of this Texas summer. I would finally like to express my deepest and sincerest gratitude to my husband for not asking me to help and for only gagging a little.

We're officially planning for Mt. Kilimanjaro, now. October 2013. It's soooo far away, but it's soooo expensive and we'll need soooo much time to save up sooo much money, because we're sooo not putting the trip on a credit card.

I'm starting to become more active in rescue, and it makes me happy! I am, admittedly, worried that I may feel pressure to contribute more and more time and I don't want to wear myself thin - I don't want to neglect my pups trying to save other pups. Speaking of pups, their party this year will be Super Mario Bros.-themed. I am totally going to attempt fancy cake decorating. If I fail, it all ends up in our stomachs, anyway!

I've stopped watching TV, because all we do now is stream Weeds on Netflix. I wonder what's going on around the world.

Jarod and I went to Target tonight, and as I was crossing things off of my shopping list, I realized that I'd written "scissors" on said list. Folks, I have NO idea why that was on my list. And then I remembered actually writing it, and I recalled that while I was writing that word, I'd been thinking, "What a weird word. Am I spelling this correctly?"

I honestly still have no clue why I added scissors to my shopping list.

Tonight, we went with friends to a frozen banana stand (seriously!) that was run by a guy that I had classes with in college. He was always late to class. Random!

5 years ago, I scoffed at flowers. I banned Jarod from ever buying them for me and have always viewed them as a waste of money. Now, I just love them. Our grocery store sells teeny "bouquets" for $4, so I've started picking out 2 every week and making my own arrangement for our dining room.
